New VCAA President

Tom CreanSteve Eivemark, the VCAA President, sent me the following email today.  The VC Alumni Association is proud to announce our new President and Vice President set to takeover for Steve once he officially steps down.

Thanks Steve for the announcement.

Greetings, All!

With my impending departure and lots of discussions with several members of the VCAA board, I am very pleased to announce that Tom Crean ’74 will be assuming the president’s role beginning in February.

Over the past few years, we have built up a solid board of enthusiastic alumni and Tom is an excellent candidate to lead this group.  His experience as a business owner and past Rotary Club President makes him an ideal leader and spokesperson for the VCAA.  Tom’s son is in Grade 10.

Greg SmythIn addition, I am pleased to announce that Greg Smyth ’90 will be assuming the role of Vice-President and will assist in the various management duties.  This is a very exciting development as the VCAA board hasn’t had a VP for several years and it sets us up well for future succession planning.  In the time that Greg has been on our board, I have been impressed with his initiative and the quality of input that he has brought to the table.  Greg’s son is in Grade 8.

It has been an honour to serve in the VC Community and I will make sure to stay in touch.

Semper Fidelis
